Add GH commit ID helper to show in the wp admin maybe in the status bar or something like that.

add it in the status bar and only for admins

\Composer\InstalledVersions::getReference('vendor/package'); or Composer\InstalledVersions::getVersion('vendor/package'); should work, see https://getcomposer.org/doc/07-runtime.md#knowing-the-version-of-package-x, no need to parse composer.json yourself.

While you're at it, you know what would be cool? A Query Monitor-style panel where you could get the

  • Eightshift Libs and Frontend Libs version/commit
  • Current repository branch if you're working locally

I have wanted to develop "Eightshift Monitor" that would also show all blocks and components nicely nested, mapping WP-grammar serialized names to the meaningful block/component names.
