bug: Hardware Back Button does not close side menu

Ionic version:

[x] 5.x

Current behavior:

Tapping the hardware back button does not close the open side menu.

Expected behavior:

I would expect that tapping the hardware back button would close the open side menu.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Run the sidemenu starter app on an Android device.
2. Open the sidemenu.
3. Tap the hardware back button.
4. You should notice that the side menu does not close.
