I apologize in advance if this is easily solvable, I really tried to figure this out. My setup is more complicated than I would like, but I don't have NAS money yet. Please bear with me.
My server:
-Win10
-i7-9700K
-16GB RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti
The drives are full, so I have to store many files on another computer for the moment. That has been working flawlessly for about a year, until 3 days ago. Suddenly, and without my input, the streaming experience from any files on the other computer are abysmally slow. I mean one frame every 10 seconds on a 480p file. Here is that computer's specs:
-Win11
-i9-10900F
-16GB RAM
-NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
I tested everything I could think of in regards to the affected drive. It's read and write speeds are performing as intended, until Jellyfin gets involved. Besides Jellyfin, I can access the drive as a network location and stream files per usual...yet Jellyfin is (in layperson's terms) "requesting very little data from the drive"; instead of something in MB/s, it's pulling 100 KB/s. Jellyfin is using files on the host machine, the other computer accesses its own files as intended too, but suddenly there's a disconnect between the two.
Reproduction Steps
Set up a Jellyfin host
Store some media on a separate PC's HDD
Stream Jellyfin from the machine with the HDD
Jellyfin Version
10.8.13
