For performance reasons XML escaping isn't the default action for the internal XML writer. This behaviour changed in version 0.51. Prior to that escaping was the default.

This has caused a series of bugs that prevent the xlsx files from loading.

TODO: Restore default XML escaping for non-performance related elements.
