Indeed, what is the difference between the three versions:

  • homebridge-rademacher-homepilot v0.8.1 @bombadiltom
  • homebridge-rademacher-homepilot-modellbobby v0.7.17 @modellbobby
  • homebridge-rademacher-blinds v1.0.1 (this one)

Which one is current and suggested to install?

The main difference between my initial version and the fork is the added functionality. I am only interested in providing access to the blinds functionality of the Rademacher ecosystem (i.e. any device that fits into the homebridge 'Service.WindowCovering' category).

If you need additional functionality you may be better off using the homebridge-rademacher-homepilot fork, which also adds support for many other Rademacher accessories.

I see, thank you. Which plugin is maintained better? I see yours is at v1.0.1, the extended fork is at v0.8.1.

There is no 'better' version. I raised the version number to v1.x.y just to discern between the old and the currently used API/Firmware version of the Homepilot.
v1.x.y has support for Homepilot Firmware v5
v0.x.y has support for Homepilot Firmware v4

don't look at version numbers, look at number of commits ;-)

@modellbobby contributes the "Umweltsensor" implementation to my fork which tries to support the whole DuoFern product family.
But without @jortgies I would never have started, so thanks again a lot for that.

I see. So for DuoFern family (I am planning for) the form of @bombadiltom would be the one?
