Create React & ES6 Project

Configuration Package.json

  • init package.json

    npm init

Configuration Babel for ES6

  • install babel code libraries & loaders & presets
npm install --save-dev babel-core@6.8.0, babel-loader@6.2.4 babel-preset-es2015@6.6.0 babel-preset-react@6.5.0 babel-preset-stage-0@6.5.0
  • Add following lines in babel file.
    • react (npm install ---save-dev babel-preset-react) : babel preset for transform react code.
    • es2015 (npm install ---save-dev babel-preset-es2015) : babel preset for transform ES5.
    • stage-0 (npm install ---save-dev babel-preset-stage-0) : babel preset for transform ES6 code.

Configuration Webpack

install webpack library
npm install --save-dev webpack@1.13.0
install file loaders which format will import in the code .
babel-loader
npm install --save-dev babel-loader
react-hot-loader
npm install --save-dev react-hot-loader
json-loader
npm install --save-dev json-loader
file-loader
npm install --save-dev file-loader@0.8.5
style-loader
npm install --save-dev style-loader
install React libraries in save mode
npm install --save react react-addons-shallow-compare react-dom
  • create webpack.config.common.js file to root directory to use in dev,test,prod configurations as common configuration.
configure webpack.config.common.js
  • add below code to webpack.config.common.js
