in R: A is not in df, but it can run
df %>% mutate(A = a, B = A)

but,
df >> mutate(A = a, B = A)
error: name 'A' is not defined

Is this feature supported now?

You can try like this
df >> mutate(A = a) >> mutate(B = A)
