using iFrame in clueTip causes redirect

Per a client's request, I am using an iFrame in the clueTip content file (the rel link). The clueTip opens and functions fine until you click the link, which takes you to a different page (the href link). Then if you go back to the main (first) page and hover over the link, the clueTip redirects to the href link instead of opening the rel link in the clueTip.
How can I prevent this from happening?
