I installed this extension (v2.0.12) on Magento 2.4.3-p3 CE like described in readme and the editor still looks like before.
Also I checked the magefan settings in magento admin, I enabled the advanced editor for all page types and cleared the cache without success.

This condition evaluates to true so it just returns $result without enabling extended wysiwyg:
