Engg / EnginX next steps

This is a pseudo-umbrella issue to keep track of next priorities with EnginX support and Engg (Engineering diffraction) algorithms and interfaces in general. This could be useful to define priorities and divide up the work.

This should be done first:

• TRAC8368 - initial umbrella ticket - issue Engin-X - Umbrella Issue/ticket - up to a first basic GUI #9213 which would end when the first GUI becomes available.

Incremental additions that seem small and doable without side complications:

• Rename EnginX* algorithms as Engg* #13044 - Rename EnginX* algorithms as Engg*
• Add focusing tab in the Engg GUI #13375 - Add focusing tab in the Engg GUI
• Extend the Engg GUI focus tab with "cropped" and "texture" focusing options #13486 - Extend focusing tab with "cropped" and "texture" focusing

• Engg algorithms and GUI: more additions - modes for multi-run focusing #13784 and Engg algorithms and GUI: Enable Focus sum of files mode for multi-run focusing #14835 - More GUI improvements: add multi-run focusing capability, with 2 modes: separately / sum of files
• SaveOpenGenieAscii: add more fields to the output files #13752 and Algorithm to save as open-genie ascii files #13643 - Capability to save .his files for GSAS
• Engg algorithms: normalize all files by current + update Vanadium integration/fit #13378 - Normalize by current + updated Vanadium corrections

Bigger chunks of work that still need more discussion with scientists and that may span further work/issues/tickets:

• Add a "peaks diagnostics" interface in the EnginX GUI #12927 - Add a "peaks diagnosis" interface in the EnginX GUI
• TRAC9788 - Issue Interface with GSAS-II from Engg GUI for EnginX analysis #10630 - GSAS integration
• All tickets/issues related to new additions to the GUI (too long list to add here):
  • Single peaks fitting tab : Engg GUI: Enable single peak fitting for multiple runs #15906, Multiple runs in sequence in the single peak fitting tab - Engg GUI #16005.
  • Many runs loading/saving capability for the peaks fitting tab.
  • Multi-fitting (GSAS-II) tab. Engg GUI: add tab for multi peak fitting (a la GSASII) #15552.

Newer requirements:

• Add "cropped" calibration in EnggDiffraction #14591 - "cropped" calibration
• Ship an ENGINX full calibration file with Mantid #14590 - Provide a default full calibration
• Some GUI improvements (disable error bars Disable error bars in EnggDiff focusing plots by default #14593, make advanced focusing disabled by default EnggDiffraction: make "cropped" and "texture" focusing widgets disabled by default #14592)
• EnggDiffractionGUI: when calibrating, generate also the ob+..._bank.his file #14594 - when calibrating, generate ob+..._South_bank.his files with the Vanadium pattern.
• System test with the last available matching pair of Vanadium and long Ceria runs (ENGIN-X) #14596 - additional system test with matching pairs of Vanadium and Ceria runs.
• EnggCalibrateFull: set default value for ExpectedPeaks - and other improvements in in/out properties #14600 - default value for ExpectedPeaks visible in dialog (Ceria peaks)
• Mask out some bins for Engin-X runs (Engg algorithms) #14788 - mask some bins out
• All usage of spectrum ids replaced with spectrum numbers in Engg Diffraction files #15541 - replace confusing working "spectrum IDs" with "spectrum numbers" for consistency.

@Anders-Markvardsen: just FYI, I've stopped adding new issues in the old umbrella ticket which was becoming too bloated. It would end its life when the first GUI becomes available, as that looks like a good first milestone. This issue is now a compilation of future steps where we can keep track of the TODO items. I've assigned this to myself to keep it visible in my list, but feel free to edit/rearrange it as work on EnginX/Engg progresses.

@DavidFair: this is a long-term umbrella issue for Engin-X that covers all the initial plans done approximately a year ago, plus new requirements that popped-up along the way.
