If one runs LoadEmptyInstrument on the IDF file attached to ticket http://trac.mantidproject.org/mantid/ticket/5914 or http://trac.mantidproject.org/mantid/ticket/5915 and then attempt to show the instrument, Mantid crashes (in Windows 7 64-bit).

It should either show the instrument or give an error message.
