Sort out Workspace1D problem #955

The workspace1D class does not describe vertical 1D workspaces correctly. This needs to be resolved.

Two posibilities are:

1 – Remove Workspace1D and model the as Workspace2Ds with one dimension =1

2 – Fudge what we put in what axis in the workspace 1D but this has some problems with ints being put in doubles and vice versa
