I'm pretty sure it is LaTeX. |

Whatever is generating that .log file next to it in the .gitignore is also generating the .aux. |

It could be related to #2403 (comment). I checked texput.log and it looks like it's using xetex, but I have pdflatex installed. So maybe a unicode problem mentioned in that comment has resurfaced. My matplotlib test output is littered with unicode problems warning that strings are being compared as unequal although they differ only in encoding. |

Now I suspect this file is spam caused by manually Ctrl-C interrupting the matplotlib tests, so I'll close this. |
