Expected behavior

I have been trying for more than 12 hours to recondition the battery but it doesn't show any different behavior.
First time I waited for 5 hours.
Then I tried again for another 5 hours.
Then I left it overnight >7 hours.
Still battery doesn't seem to be charged.

Actual behavior

I am not sure what it should show when the battery has been charged.
Could you add some pictures to the guide?

Step by step guide to reproduce the problem

  1. Run moolticute and use shift-F2
  2. Start NiMH Reconditioning
  3. wait overnight > 5 hours
  4. battery not charged

Moolticute Version

custom build v1.03.0

Operating System

  • Debian Bookworm

Mooltipass Device

  • The Mooltipass Mini BLE

Hello there!
That may happen on devices with old batteries... are you running bundle v13?

Hello @limpkin !
Unfortunately I was trying to update to v13 from v5(I think) but I cannot as it doesn't allow me to do it if it is not charged first.
Is there any way that I can make the battery work or the device is "useless"?

Hi @limpkin and thanks for the prompt reply!
Indeed with the shift key I was able to update it!
May I suggest to add it this information on the setup pdf? If you have a .md I can do the change.

I will update here later if the recondition worked!

Update
still "NiMH reconditioning is in progress. Please wait"

Update2

Even after 8 hours it didn't change any state. Any solutions from this point on?

Yeap that is the issue. It doesn't seem to finish ever.

If the battery is dead, how is it possible to replace it?

I'm afraid not without breaking the case.... but some good 3d printed case can be found: https://www.reddit.com/r/mooltipass/comments/191285c/custom_3d_printed_enclosure_for_mooltipass_ble/

How can I check that the battery is dead?
Is there any way to know why the reconditioning procedure is not finishing?

FWIW I've checked the little box that said something along the lines of "continue until original capacity is reached". I'm about 72 hours in.

I'm on the latest bundle/moolticute available for the miniBLE as of 72 hours ago.

Is there an ideal phase for me to unplug it and halt the processes since there's no progress indicator and I'm giving up on it ending naturally? (rest, discharge, etc)

LMK if there's any data I can collect to help out with this.

I'd recommend disconnecting during the charge phase :)
