I just installed nightingale and I'm not seeing any text in the media lists. They are all blank. I click on a blank line and a track plays, but only the play symbol is shown.

This is a sign, that a file you batch-imported with the others had corrupted metadata. Sadly, Nightingale currently doesn't warn you, if a file has corrupted meta data. This is solved by selecting all tracks (ctrl+A) and removing them from the library. And then re-importing them without the ones with corrupted metadata. To find out, what's causing problems, you can look at the batch-import dialog, and if it stays at a file for a longer time, it's most likely corrupted.
Alternatively reloading the view, resetting the search, switching to a playlist and back could solve this. The playlist widget sometimes has weird bugs with not knowing what items it should display. If we ever find out, why that happens, we have no justification for any of the remaining bugs.
