ar:create, ar:drop and few others did not work with activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter when using jruby

When using activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter, ActiveRecord tasks such as ar:create, ar:drop failed silently.
No database was created on running ar:create. No error was thrown either.
I have added support for 'jdbcmysql' in the list of adapters (along with mysql and mysql2)
*Environment used : Padrino + Jruby + activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter
