reopen last session

Hello,
is there a way to reopen exactly same session (buffers, widows, frames, colors, width, height and so on...) without having me to save before closing emacs?
I added (desktop-save-mode t) to both .emacs.el and /portacle/config/user.el but it doesn't work consistently... sometimes I get some buffers from last session, but not all...
Any ideas?

No ideas from me, I'm afraid. Anything suspicious in the *messages* buffer? Otherwise I'd look around for general emacs help.

Actually, something suspicious there is... but not sure if it's related:

you can completely ignore that, it's unrelated, and unavoidable.
