When installing the add-on in 60.4.0 (32-bit), there are no accounts listed to sort, but they are displayed under the Sort Folders tab.

I face exactly the same problem since today (Version 1.2.1 with Thunderbird 60.5 on Ubuntu 18.04). Initially, everything worked as expected, but the accout list disappeart just after I removed one of my accounts.

Hello,
In case it helps, version 1.2.0 is OK on Windows 10, as well with Thunderbird 60.4 as 60.5
The automatic add-ons update is selected.

This helped me:

* go to Thunderbird - about:config

* set to default: "[extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.accounts](mailto:extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.accounts)" and "[extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.defaultaccount](mailto:extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.defaultaccount)"

* restart Thunderbird

I confirmed that this work around worked for me. If this helps, the content of the first string was "account9,account1,account6,account8,account4,account5,account2", so exactly what I had configured.

In Thunderbird, about:config is accessed via "Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor (button)" - but I couldn't get it to work properly for me...

Thunderbird 60.7.2 (32-bit)
Manually sort folders v1.2.1
Worked on first starting up, managed to sort all my folders (email accounts).
However soon afterwards I changed ISP and needed to sort them again:
No folders listed.
I tried the workaround by arikurumo, via "Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor (button)" - but I couldn't see how to "set to default" anything.

Once you are in the Config Editor, you should search extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.accounts. Then, you will see an entry like in the following print screen:

Capture d’écran de 2019-07-10 11-32-31

Then, if you right-click on it, you should be able to "reinitialize", or "reset" the entry.

Hope this helps.

Merci sssammm88

In searching for "extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org." I found
extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.defaultaccounts" plus
another...

I reset both.

Is the common factor between all of you that you removed an account?

Thank you to @arikurumo :

This helped me:

adding information : to "set to default", I right clic on each property and choose the "reinit" entry : after that appear "default" in the "mode" column of the property

and by this way, it worked for me too (set the value of the properties to an empty string was not enough)

So, this issue has bugged me for the better part of 3 years! This issue still persisted despite the fixed version posted in Issue #70 for TB 60+. Running TB 68.9.0 with 2.0.2 of Manually Sort Folders.

bugged

The reason was "mail.accountmanager.accounts" being set to an account ID that no longer exists which leads to this console error. It seems that it chokes when it tries to clone this value to "extensions.tbsortfolders@xulforum.org.defaultaccount".

bugged console

The fix is to change this to any existing account ID in about:config. To find out what these IDs are, just go into Troubleshooting Information. Hope this helps!

I think I remember I had such a problem one day.
I went to Tools / Parameters of the Accounts. The user interface showed a problem for one of the accounts. I wiped it out of the configuration variable. I had that with three accounts successively, and when I suppressed them everything went OK.

Hello,
When reading the list of issues, I realized this was still opened.
Some tips have been given here in this thread, some of them were already given in other threads.
So, the problem is solved for at least some users.
It would be a good thing that users still getting this problem tell it to refresh the issue.
Well, many people are at the seaside, but let us say that if there is no answer until mid September, we can consider this issue of empty list of folders can be closed.

I have reset all defaults all three properties, still no accounts in the tab. Three accounts: regular IMAP, Google and MS Exchange (via https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/owl-for-exchange/).
