Hello, I hope this is not a duplicate I did search the issues in this repo and tried everything I could gather around the internet.
I am trying to flash the firmware on a STM32F401CCU6 Blackpill, since I only have an M1 which doesn't support bootcamp I am running Ubuntu 22.04. via UTM. I followed every step in the pages "Building the firmware" and "Flashing STM32 boards".

My issue:

When running make flash as per the guide, I am getting following output:

I tried with dfu-util (installed alongside libusb and libusb-compat via brew) on macOS. The bin file I have downloaded from the releases page in this repo:

I have tried multiple cable combinations (USB C to USB C to mac, USB C to USB C to Hub, USB C to USB A to Hub etc. etc.), when I connect the board directly to the mac, I get libusb_control_transfer returned -9 (LIBUSB_ERROR_PIPE), if I connect to the Hub I get libusb_control_transfer returned -1 (LIBUSB_ERROR_IO)
I have tried connecting through a SWD Interface but dfu util doesn't recognize it as a dfu device anymore.

Whenever I find solutions for libusb errors they seem to be using version 1.0.0 as opposed to 1.0.27, is there maybe a way to downgrade to 1.0.0?
Is there an alternative to DFU for flashing onto the blackpill? I found stuff like OTG, UART, but I have no experience in this kind of stuff whatsoever, is it worth pursuing or should I just buy an Arduino Mega and hope it's easier to flash?
Could it be worth buying an old laptop barely running Ubuntu 22.04. and trying this way?

I have also Problems with this type of pills on MacOs „STM32F401CCU6“

Other Blackpills i flashed this week successfully on my M1 Mac with dfu-util, installed via homebrew.

Frankly no idea. Don't have a mac so I cannot verify. If you're successful in flashing 411 variant could you send the 401cc to me to check? I don't have any Blackpill board anymore.

Flashing the blackpill411.bin on a STM32F411CEU6 with dfu-util on mac worked without any further issues.

i only tried 7.10 (not working) and 7.1 (working)
7.1. was the actual version when i build my controller, so i tried it again with this.

in which version do you suggest you broke the support? should i try another version for you?

If I had to guess I'd say it's most likely v7.5.0 broke it since that one introduced rewritten build system. So you can test that one first. If it doesn't work, try the previous versions, and vice versa, if it works, try newer.

I tried now every main version since 7.5 and now 7.10 is working.

the board is on its way to croatia anyway
