Would it be possible to have the config file parsed earlier, and have lines in there for paths to add to sys.path

In my case, I'm launching shotgunEventDaemon through a script in /etc/init.d - I need to add something to sys.path to ensure that it gets the path with shotgun_api3 - it would be nice if this were in the config file rather than me having to edit shotgunEventDaemon.py manually.
