Hello, everybody!

I am Travis Vroman and I make videos and tutorials about creating video games and their underlying technology. I also have content which provides tips, tricks and advice for new or would-be game developers. I've been writing software since I was around 7 (in QBASIC in those days), and have always felt that being able to write games (or any type of program) can change the world. And it has.

I believe that knowledge is power, and that deep-down knowledge of video game creation isn't anywhere near as accessible as it should be. My goal is to create the content that I wish I had when learning to make games, and to share that content with the world in the hope of giving new developers the knowledge and confidence to enter the industry with bright, new ideas. I also believe that the only way to truly learn something is to get your hands dirty by jumping into development along with me on this journey. This is why I create videos which start out by offering step-by-step guidance through the development process and progress into more advanced topics as time goes on.

Currently, I am creating a game engine from the ground up in C. This shows the complete process of making a game engine, including explanations of concepts, debugging and thorough explanation of thought processes. At least in the beginning, external library use will be extremely limited. So, no rendering or math libraries (only the ones we need, like for OS interaction). We build everything we need from the ground up.
