It shall be possible to set optional (customizable) work flow definitions. Following topics are to be clarified

• are there standardized methods/languges to define workflows? (azcWorkflow? see also http://www.gridworkflow.org/snips/gridworkflow/space/Workflow+Description+Languages)
• GUI support for simple editorial process
• audit trail (who, when, why, what)
• content change staging (ability to keep a previous version visible on the site, while preparing changes) (this would enable issue#5)
• publishing queue

For example:
When new content is added or edited it is marked as "Ready for Review" at this point a notification would be sent to the approver in order allow publication or the build system would be triggered to push the revised content to the staging server then send out a notification to the approval to publish to the production server. If the approver denies then it is sent back for revision and the original editor is notified and the build system unpublishes the content from staging or updates the content from staging with any changes from the approver and sends back to the editor. All of this is tracked with revisions for logging and rollbacks.
