Sometimes (I haven't been able to figure out when), the percentage of downloaded packages rapidly goes way beyond 100%:

There are no functional issues, everything works as expected, expect for the cosmetic issue. OS is Ubuntu 18.10.

Yes. I can confirm this too (at least when I run this on my macOS) ... and some people have said the same on Symfony's Slack.

Let's try to find the cause of the error and then let's see if someone can contribute a fix for it. Thanks!

I have never seen this issue on Alpine Linux if that helps, and I usually update to the latest version as much as I can.

I've never seen this. Might be related to the PHP version or the environment? Or Composer? I usually run Docker containers to run my Symfony projects

I confirm the issue on OS X too.

The issue might happen only when ext-curl is installed, so it's normal that not everybody sees it.
PR welcome if anyone wants to dig into the reason why this happens.

@nicolas-grekas i have a 100% reproducible example if you want to investigate. We'd have to do it privately.
