Summary

Related to #3609

#3609 adds a script to generate stats on the number of chapter and sub-chapters in each guide.
In a conversation on Slack @sgibson91 @KirstieJane and I spoke about how we could extend this by,

  • Running analysis in CI for automatic reporting
  • Run analysis over time, to see how the number of guides, chapters, sub-chapters has grown over time (and grows in the future)
  • Write a Sphinx plugin to generate stats from the Sphinx ToC (and other objects)

This could make a good, scoped project for Outreachy or GSoC.

What needs to be done?

  • Scope the task, quickly check feasibility
  • Decide whether to submit this as a Outreachy or GSoC project
  • ...

Who can help?

  • Anyone who is interested
  • @the-turing-way/infrastructure-working-group (possibly as mentors)
