I have removed the following users as Owners of this repository:

  • @xenu (only one commit to this repository)
  • @sebacjusz (no activity on Github for 2+ years)
  • @Bush6 (no activity on Github for 2+ years)
  • @j147 (I am suspicious of them, more below.)

I attempted to contact @czaks over IRC multiple times over the last two weeks. As he is not resopnding, and as there are some epic memers (@majestrate) saying that he has been v&, I am doing this to protect the repository from trolling by people I do not know. People with "Owner" rank can delete the entire repository, add/remove users, et cetera.

I am open to adding any one of the removed people back as Contributors at their request. I am suspicious of @j147 as his/her account was created on 2 October for seemingly the express purpose of maintaining this repository and they have no past contributions to the project.

I am taking over as primary contact and maintainer of the project. I have the most commits after @czaks and therefore feel that that is the right way to handle this succession crisis.

Discuss.

great that this script hasn't been totally abandoned. what are your plans with this script @ctrlcctrlv there is a lot of dead/bugged code that can better be removed in my humble opinion.

@M1d0r1 I believe it's important to have an active maintainer as to abandon this project would do the community a great disservice. There should be someone looking at the bug tracker and PR queue, and handling security vulnerabilities, that is my main goal.

I will also patch verifiable bugs in the core features as they are reported.

I have no plans to code up new features, or upstream new features from OpenIB, but am open to well-made patches implementing new features, including patches from OpenIB.

@majestrate That is right, my apologies.

I spoke with czaks in the #8chan IRC channel a month (or 3) ago... I expressed my thankfulness for his software there and he seemed fine. He's not vanned. Just inactive currently.

I cannot thank you enough for maintaining this software - So many imageboards rely on it at the time being.

@27chan you know how their archiving feature works? I have no idea how to vote to archive a thread is it something you write down in the name or email field?

@M1d0r1 View the archive index and click the small "+" which is displayed on that page.

I'm closing this issue because @czaks gave his blessing to my maintenance of the project. I can't go into it to respect his privacy but he also assured me that he was OK.
