I would like to submit a document to the How-Tos in the Handbook concerning observational data. I am bit confused about the process and not sure if I can submit anything without being in the Arctos Working Group. Help?

Here is a guide on creating "how-tos": https://github.com/ArctosDB/documentation-wiki/wiki/Creating-or-Editing-Documents

If you want help posting it, feel free to send me the document and I can populate it on GitHub.

Thank you! We have seen this document but are all just a bit confused. Is this something that can be reviewed in the webinar tomorrow?

@Jegelewicz @mkoo will you be covering how to post How-Tos tomorrow? Seems like the documentation could use some demystifying...
@acoconis here is a more clear explanation but again, I'm happy to help post your how-to!

We may not get that far - we are starting from the very basics of creating a GitHub account, but we also plan to go with questions, so we might get there or we might end up with a topic for the next webinar. I do think the link that @ebraker provided is more useful to those new to GitHub and Markdown. The first one is what @mkoo does and I haven't gone down that path yet.

@ebraker, thank you for the offer. I may push this over to you if it is not covered today. It may be that the working group would rather the how-tos and documentation be reviewed first anyway - which I am totally on board with. Cheers!

@mkoo and @Jegelewicz, would you be up for scheduling a GitHub follow-up tutorial specifically on how to create documentation for the Arctos Handbook? I have the Nov 12 time slot available. If that doesn't work for you, we can plan on Sept 10 (Teresa and I are slated for a webinar recapping our SPNHC talk then but we can swap dates if that works better for you Michelle).

@mkoo and @Jegelewicz I am going to reschedule this so it doesn't conflict with the Connected Data webinar Nov 12. Since this is internally-facing and we can do via Zoom (or Adobe Connect), I say pick a time at your convenience in November/early Dec
