Description

This report relates to bulk resume/pause of items then making other changes after.

On first load the interface for multi-operation shows:

I then use it to change some items to paused.

If I then wanted to change the priority of other items I'm forced to pick between resume/pause or close and reopen the multi-operation interface:

I feel it should be possible to clear the resume/pause selection and return it to a "make no changes" state?

I really like the multi-operation feature however separate to the above I do think it's quite confusing to use and behaves in ways that are a bit unintuitive compared to how I've seen it work on other sites/services, see ClickUp as an example.

  • I understand the reason you can set the changes to apply and then make selections is because it lets you make multiple changes at once, but most other systems I've seen you'd make a selection then select an individual change to apply and I feel that is more what a user would expect but this is probably tricky with the current UI system.
  • There doesn't appear to be a way to reset all operations except closing and reopening the multi-operations interface
  • Not strickly related but if the queue is in an overall paused state the time remaininig says "Paused" and the icon on the far left represents if the individual item is paused, several times I've forgotten this and your eyes are drawn to the "Paused" text since it's close to either where you have checked or clicked the multi-operation resume button - before the multi-operations feature this wasn't really a problem because to changed paused state you would click the icon on the left so you'd see it change state.
  • No way to clear "all" selections when the items may have changed page

You are right.
If you know a better way, lets change it! I just don't give it much love since I don't use it myself.
