Add icon overlay for shared folders not working in Windows 11 24H2 #2188

Describe the bug

I have ticked the usual settings in the File Pane of Classic Explorer (see screenshot) but the shared folder icon overlay does not appear in Windows 11 File Explorer navigation pane.

To reproduce

  1. Click the blue shell icon in File Explorer to open Classic Explorer Settings
  2. Select the "File Pane" tab
  3. Tick the following:
    • Add icon overlay for shared folders
    • Share overlay icon - click the meatball button, choose your preferred icon
    • Show hidden shares (optional)
    • Show overlay on in Explorer
  4. Click OK
  5. Sign out of Windows
  6. Sign into Windows
  7. Open a File Explorer window
  8. Look for the overlays on shared folders
  9. Curse
  10. Restart Windows
  11. Open a File Explorer window
  12. Look for the overlays on shared folders
  13. Cry

Expected behavior

Expected to see my chosen icon on shared folders, e.g.

Additional context

Something else I notice since the March Windows 11 update is that the Classic Shell toolbar is now right justified instead of left justified. It maybe unrelated. Or it could be that the Microsoft Windows UI team are looking to find new ways to annoy users of Open/Classic Shell.
