Copying from ssh->tmux->Ctrl-B+[ leads to many trailing spaces in some lines

Steps to reproduce

When copying some printouts from tmux, there are a lot of trailing spaces, and sometimes missing newline chars

E.g. here I had to manually insert newlines (but still kept the trailing spaces for bug demonstration purposes)

Expected Behavior

No trailing spaces, and newline chars preserved when copy-pasting output in tmux

Actual Behavior

For newlines, this might be duplicate of #8976 - it's a pity, this this issue still bites after so many years :(

For trailing spaces, the problem here is that I'm not doing rectangular selection specifically as in #9706, but just some arbitrary text selection

Since this bug contains what appears to be two issues, I'm going to make this one the primary for the spaces issue.

If you can reproduce the spaces issue under the debug tap, would you be willing to share the output... or some repro steps/? Thanks.
