Automatically bump the package version

I have the github action set up in my repo here.

I expect that when version 0.0.0 of the package is already published, that if i run the pipeline again it should bump the patch version to v0.0.1 instead. Is there something i have configured incorrectly?

This action does not automatically bump the version in package.json. Rather, it automatically publishes your package if it detects that you have updated the version.

There are a bunch of projects that you can look into to do automatic version bumping. I have used and enjoyed these two (though there are quite a few out there):

• release-please
