I have some internal services like foo.home.internal and bar.home.internal... it would be cool if I could define *.home.internal to 10.1.1.1

Yes, it is possible, see example in readme:
customDNS: mapping: printer.lan: 192.168.178.3
this will resolve printer.lan and foo.printer.lan to 192.178.178.3
