Method card first draft here.

@quarterback - This was blocked because we weren't sure what other links to 18F refs to include, but I'm inclined to move forward and publish the new method and then add links to the WIP qual data anlaysis section of the UX Guide later on. Thoughts?

That sounds like a good call to me.

Draft is complete. Next step is to get the content in the doc on to the site and that should cover this.

@boonerang - Do you have an update on this? Are we still on track to have it completed before the end of the increment?

@MelissaBraxton

@boonerang - Let's go with your plan to have the same person review this alongside the qual data analysis article to make sure aligned, and then we can go from there.

Agreed, updated as I'm leaving the crew, the doc is getting reviewed in parallel to the method card and I will submit an edited document to close this issue.

NOTE: I will be OOO the week of 10/9 so that will delay this ticket's close until 10/16 at the earliest.

@MelissaBraxton @bpdesigns & @boonerang - I made a few edits to the method card and also renamed it to "Coding qualitative data". Let me know if this helps clarify / is more actionable: new copy, didn't want to overwrite the prev

@MelissaBraxton @quarterback I recommend we take steps 2-4 of this draft and further flush out the affinity mapping card. These cards overlap and the current affinity mapping is light on details.

@MelissaBraxton, edited slightly based on your feedback! @bpdesigns - is your comment to remove the steps 2-4 or to edit the affinity card?

@a-chappelear my comment was an idea to combine this card with the Affinity Mapping card BUT I will defer to @MelissaBraxton and remove myself as one too many cook in the kitchen on this :)

Let's keep both cards. Affinity mapping and qualitative coding are different methods with different use cases that both have a place in our canon. (i.e., affinity mapping is good for workshops and helping stakeholder engage with the data; qualitative coding is good for helping research teams conduct rigorous research) @a-chappelear
