Contributing to Firebase Auth Backup Scheduler

Thank you for considering contributing to the Firebase Auth Backup Scheduler extension! Your contributions help make this project better.

How to Contribute

  1. Report Issues: If you encounter any issues, have questions, or need assistance, please create an issue. Make sure to provide detailed information about the problem you're facing.

    • Note: If you're reporting a bug, please include steps to reproduce the issue and any relevant code. If you're suggesting a new feature or enhancement, please provide a detailed description of the feature and how it would be useful.
  2. Fork the Repository: Click on the "Fork" button at the top right corner of the repository's page on GitHub.

  3. Clone the Forked Repository: Clone the forked repository to your local machine using the following command: git clone https://github.com/50Fifty/auth-scheduled-backup.git

  4. Create a New Branch: Create a new branch to work on your changes using the following command: git checkout -b <branch-name> (replace with a descriptive name for your branch)

    • If you're working on a bug fix, name your branch "bugfix/" (replace with the issue number from GitHub)
    • If you're working on a new feature, name your branch "feature/" (replace with a descriptive name for your feature)
  5. Make Changes: Make any changes you want to the codebase. You can use the following command to check the status of your changes: git status

  6. Commit Changes: Once you're satisfied with your changes, commit them using the following commands: git add . git commit -m "<commit-message>" (replace with a descriptive message for your commit)

  7. Push Changes: Push your changes to the remote repository using the following command: git push origin <branch-name> (replace with the name of the branch you created earlier)

  8. Create a Pull Request: Go to the Pull Requests

  9. Select the Branch: Select the branch you created earlier from the dropdown menu. You should see the changes you made.

  10. Create the Pull Request: Click on the "Create Pull Request" button. Make sure to provide a descriptive title and description for your pull request.

  11. Wait for Review: Once you've created the pull request, a maintainer will review your changes and provide feedback. If everything looks good, your pull request will be merged and your changes will be added to the project.
