Hi, been happily working with poe-sniper for 2 days, got upgrade to 1.9 and got blacklisted.
Any thoughts what can I do and prevent this in the future when using poe-sniper?

Hi,

Please see the troubleshooting chapter: https://github.com/5k-mirrors/poe-sniper#troubleshooting to resolve the issue.

pathofexile.com has a rate-limiting which the app respects. In fact, by using the app you're making fewer requests than if you'd use the browser. Nothing has changed regarding this, in v1.9.0 or any other version. While a few users reported an issue with Cloudware, many had no issue whatsoever. We have no reason to think this is related to the app.

That said, I understand this has been a problem recently for some users. It could be some sort of tweak or banwave on Cloudware's side (see reports from earlier: 1, 2). If we know anything more we'll let you know.

To gather some data: how many searches are you connecting at once?

I had 30 searches in the browser + 43 in the app. poe-sniper never complained via the rate-limiter icon.
But I noticed when poe-sniper is active, github and other sites complain of flooding when browsing normally.

We made request throttling more strict in v1.9.1. Could you give it another try with the new version?

sure, but I need new IP first

I still have the same issue but can not get the new IP,
Is that possible to implement proxies in tool? Since the official /trade site and its cloudflare protection is ̷c̷l̷e̷a̷r̷l̷y̷ ̷d̷e̷t̷e̷c̷t̷i̷n̷g̷ potentially connected to the tool usage?

So did you try with v1.9.1 or not?

cloudflare protection is clearly detecting the tool usage?

This is still only the case for some. You will need to provide more exact details to "clearly" determine anything. For example, getting blakclisted after 5 hours of usage doesn't make much sense to me. The biggest amount of requests would happen when the is started.

But I noticed when poe-sniper is active, github and other sites complain of flooding when browsing normally.

This again would need more explanation. Which sites, what does it mean to "complain of flooding"?

Yeah that made no change for me, since ISP refused to set up new global (external) IP. I am currently running browser VPN to access the site without entering captcha every 5 minutes. (and running 0.6.0)

It was running fine 24/7 for several weeks (2~months) but some of the searches would randomly drop and would not reconnect

It might not be caused by using the app and I could not say why exactly it happened or why there was no ban after 5 hour/1 week/1 month of usage but at some point something clicks (related to official poe site or its api?) and IP is getting blocked.

The question is whether v1.9.1 changes anything with the situation. You can only test that with an IP that is not blacklisted. If your IP is blacklisted already, you cannot use the app.

Then let's not jump to conclusions. I agree that that something changed as this issue showed up for multiple users simultaneously. We're all here to figure out what's wrong. The next step is to use v1.9.1 on a new IP.

Hi, I'm back with brand new IP. Also, I've found a way to get more IPs if this is going to be blacklisted again. My plan is to start with 5 searches (1.9.1) and increment further.

But I noticed when poe-sniper is active, github and other sites complain of flooding when browsing normally.

Test this as follows, start poe-sniper with 40 searches then go search something in github. Press next page, repeat if necessary, you will see weird page complaining of flooding. This happen with other sites I don't remember which. I think its standard issue.

How this app works? The amount of searches increases the risk to be blacklisted, am I right?
What is the network mechanics behind the scenes, why 80 searches in firefox is ok but in poe-sniper is not?
BTW, thanks for yaml file, much needed. But I didn't figure how the grouping works, please explain.

It connects to the websockets, same as the browser. Except you don't even need to load the webpage which means it's fewer requests. I don't know if it would increase the risk. I think 80 searches opened at once from the browser would be even worse than from the app (e.g. if you have a folder in your bookmarks and select open all). We added a limit in 1.9.1 so that there's more pause between starting connections when e.g. you open the app or import a lot at once.

I use the app and github extensively and never seen nor heard something like this. Frankly, it doesn't make sense either. The connections go towards pathofexile.com's API.

Just reporting back a bit. I have not run into any troubles with 1.9.1. That said, I had never had any problems with the previous versions either until when this manifested. I've been running between 40-60 searches, quite extensively during the day. But very seldom refresh them/reopen the program.

Any of you have any update on this? As we didn't receive any more complaints I'd close this issue, unless it's still a problem.

Did you try the latest version with a new, clean IP?

Closing as there are no updates other than someone reporting no issues with v1.9.1.

@thisismydesign
So i got Blacklisted today. I was using app for like 5-6 days with 60-64 searches and maybe some on browser(never more than 5). At same time i was using Trade macro and Exilence. It was fine but after last poe update app stopped working and i tried to reconnect my searches several times and i clicked like 5 times on reconnect all button. And today when i wake up i got blacklisted.

Also i found this forum post with ggg reply: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2759855
