So, I've come to the realization that many games won't work on 86Box purely because of copy protection, and 86Box's lack of CDROM copy protection support, due to not supporting a disc image format that can handle that information. As far as I know, Alcohol 120%'s MDF format is the only one that supports many copy protection formats such as SafeDisc, which is the one I was dealing with. Age of Empires 2 uses SafeDisc v1. Even though I have a disc image of my Age of Empires 2 game, which can be burned to a real CD and works perfectly on real hardware, I can't use it in 86Box. The only mention of anything like this I could find was #4255
