shutdown crashes if a telnet socket is still open at time of reboot #189

If you have an ESTABLISHED socket (e.g. a telnet session) at the time of a shutdown -r -t 0 command, the system will crash and not reboot. However, if you do nohup shutdown -r -t 15 & and forcibly close the telnet session before the 15 second timeout, then reboot will not crash and the system will come back up.
