This issue will get a post for each announcement sent to participants of the HPC Kickstart course: https://scicomp.aalto.fi/training/scip/summer-kickstart/, and various smaller updates that don't deserve their own email. You watch this issue to get these notifications.

Hi,

You are receiving this email because you have registered to the FGCI
Summer Kickstart event. The course starts Monday afternoon. Below is
important information for attending:

To successfully follow the course, please make sure that you have all
the prerequisites listed here:
https://scicomp.aalto.fi/training/scip/summer-kickstart/#prerequisites
For that matter, please read the whole course page in detail and make
sure you come well prepared. We have over 200 people registered, so in
order to be smooth everyone must be well prepared.

You should request a HPC account from your university in advance.
Please see the prerequisites link above for university-specific links.

The course may be streamed to the whole internet via Twitch (we are
still deciding this) and possibly put on YouTube, so that we can reach
more people. If so, your video will not be broadcasted, but audio in
the main room can be (to be extra safe, leave your video off in the
main room). Breakout rooms are always private.

Thank you and see you Monday,

  • Richard
