Autoupdate is not working in background #1828
Comments
@Alex-302 Any Feedback? |
@Quorum75 sorry for the late reply! There are several problems with background fetch and updating filters now. The app currently is under code refactoring and the whole filters updating mechanism will be completely reworked soon. |
@zzebrum Thanks for the reply. Will look at the next beta releases. |
FYI I don't see any improvement on auto update ON AG Pro Beta 4.3.0 (899). It still does not work. |
@Quorum75 |
Indeed, still occurs with 4.3.0 (915) beta build. |
The issue presumably still persists. Can you please look into it and reopen this case? I am on v. 4.3.1 (919) and the setting Background app refresh interval does not update filters. |
@SergeyBerdov I don't understand why this issue is closed while the problem still persist with AG Pro 4.3.2 (923) latest build. If this problem cannot be solved just tell the users to manually update the app. |
@Quorum75 |
@AleksandrShulgin, I confirm this issue with the last version of AdGuard Pro (4.3.2). The autoupdate doesn't work for me. Update with only Wi-Fi is disabled, work in background is enabled. Please check again and correct this issue because only manually update option is not okay😄 Thanks! |
None of my filters are updating on AdGuard Pro 4.4.0 (954) on iOS 15. All my filters say they were last updated "Dec 28, 2021". |
Same does not update on latest besta build. |
Hi. You guys do realize that the issue is still present even after reporting a year ago??? |
I set mine to update on, and off wifi, and it updated the filters by itself. I do not have the reported issue with AdGuard Pro for iOS. iPhone 13 Pro |
What filters enabled to your adguard app? |
The default lists, and the AdGuard social and annoyances list. So far, it's updated the lists daily by itself since turning off update on wifi only. |
Ill try to do the same and update you thanks |
Be careful between filters for Safari and for DNS and also AG native lists and the third party ones you can manually addto AG Pro. FYI after 2 days Safari and DNS filters were still not updated even with the Wi-Fi settings. So it just doesn't work AG support told me they were aware of it. That it would be solved on a next release, like port 8853 regarding DoQ, but in fact nothing has been. So I guess they just don't care. This issue being still open and being flag as a bug, is a proof of it. |
@ameshkov Filter updating in background still does not work. Adguard 4.4.6 (998) I just checked and my filters were last updated 3 months ago. iOS battery stats Last 10 Days: AdGuard AdGuard seems to be working in the background every day for approx. 7-9 minutes per day. It is working in the background, however, the filters are not being updated. |
We are working on it. The fix will be available since AdGuard 4.6. Please follow updates. |
Is there any chance this would actually be fixed? It's been almost 3 years at this point, filter lists still don't get updated for weeks/months, and there are no updates in the issue. |
We're in process or rewriting the app from scratch and eliminating all the tech debt, this issue is one of the top priorities. |
I left AG Pro Beta 4.2.2 (721) closed on my iPhone for a week.
Then I checked the filters update date and I found out that none were updated.
Obviously AG background refresh was active, even if I don't know what kind of background refresh AG is doing.
The only way to get automatic updates is to leave AG Pro application open.
Am I right?
