[Feature Request] i3-gaps with x/y coordinate

Hiya,

at the moment I'm using i3-gaps with the polybar on Debian 9.5. The polybar has a x/y offset feature, is there any chance to implement a similar feature into i3-gaps?

My gaps inner 40 worksaround works for me, but it's a bit waste of space.
