the configure script only accounts the minor kernel version

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install the latest ubuntu 
2. sync the code
3. run the configure on the kmod code

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the script should give out proper error msg.but it says that the kernel is too 
old

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
ubuntu 11.04

Please provide any additional information below.
