Since its hitbox is at the torso, so the mob will decide to bite when it is very close to the enemy, but since it's beak is in front of the main hitbox, why not have it damaging the enemy from further away, it will also help the mob out, since their actual damage output is delayed a bit due to the animation, I have observed this being applied on large dinosaurs in Fossils
