pkill -SIGUSR2 waybar or systemctl reload waybar (if using the systemd service) causes all the icons in the wlr/taskbar module to disppear upon reload. This is trivially reproducible on my system and has always occurred (AFAIK) but to be honest I haven't attempted to investigate the issue more deeply until now.

edit: It seems to only occur when there are multiple bars. A reload of a single bar doesn't trigger the issue. Enabling at least two bars and triggering a reload causes the [2023-03-30 18:16:50.135] [debug] Couldn't find icon for <...> errors

Possibly fixed by PR #3393, now in master branch. Any chance you can confirm?
