With the removal of the "Single Course Page Displays" option in version 1.12.0, Sensei seems to have lost the ability to show the full description of payed courses to non enrolled users. It means that the short description that is meant for the archive pages is now the only content for non-enrolled visitors to see, next to the list of modules and lessons. That means the course page can no longer be used as a means to inform and convince non-enrolled visitors to enroll the course.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Install version 1.12.0 or higher
  2. Have a payed course with lessons, all with descriptions and excerpts
  3. View the course page as non-enrolled visitor.

What I Expected

Since before the "Single Course Page Displays" option was set to "Full content", I expected the full description of the course to be displayed on the single course page.

What Happened Instead

The single course page only showed the excerpt and the list of lessons.

Although the option has a different purpose, I even tried to uncheck the Access Permissions option, but that resulted in several payed lessons to show their full content to the general public, while still not solving the problem. For now I chose not to update.

PHP / WordPress / Sensei version

Context / Source

Optimally one would like to have the ability to write different content in the course page for non-enrolled and enrolled visitors, but given that Sensei hasn't enabled that option (as far as I know), it should at least be possible to show the full description to non-enrolled visitors. If there is no fix to set this up, I cannot upgrade. Probably there should be a choice what to show to non-enrolled visitors, since while we tend to show full content, there may be cases in which others may not want that. A strange thing to remove. Hope this helps in some way.
