Same for me, is the server down ? |
Hi, I was having similar issue. First notes on android, were not syncing hence I deleted the app and then unable to login. Thanks |
Hi, same for me. |
I have the same "not syncing" issue, on Android 9. I didn't log out or delete the app, since it doesn't seem to be solving the issue! |
same here but a bit strange. I experimented using a firewall, found the app was actively talking to the server. The ip involved is 192.0.84.247 and the interval is 4s. And when launching the app,it made 5 requests to 35.188.42.15 Device: vivo V1732A (PD1732) Log (normal) Email: private 2022-07-14 09:23:54.513 - LAYOUT: Small, portrait Log below (firewalled) Device: vivo V1732A (PD1732) Email: [private] 2022-07-14 09:11:59.841 - LAYOUT: Small, portrait |
The new account I created shows now the same login issue on android. Tested on iphone and everything works fine. I'm wondering if it has to do with location. I'm currently in France. |
Me too, I am in France. |
I've been having this same issue the last few days. The Android app is not syncing to the server. Changes I make in the Windows app are syncing with the website, but the Android app is not syncing at all. |
How can we bring these issues to developer attention? |
In addition of this issue, I have sent a mail to the support and I have put a comment on the app on play store. For the both mail + comment I have received this :
I don't know if they are really looking to the bug ... |
thanks for the update. |
According to this reddit user, they have issued a fix in v2.24, but it could take a couple of days for the update to fully roll-out. |
I am already looking for another note app + website ... this is too long :( |
i updated android app and now its working. |
Same here. Thanks to the devs for solving the issue. |
First of all, thank you to those who take the time to report this. We're aware of this issue and would like to inform y'all that Simplenote Android 2.24 has been released to fix this login/sync issue. For those who follow this thread, or happen to get here, please head to the Play Store and update your app. If you haven’t seen it available yet, please give it sometime until the release reaches you. You should then be able to start accessing your notes from the Simplenote Android app again. Please be aware we’ve identified another issue of not being able to open/click links in notes. If you’re seeing this issue as well, rest assured that it’s already on our radar. Here's the report if any of you would like to follow: If you still have any other problems, please don’t hesitate to let us know. You can always reach out to us at Thanks again for your patience while we’re working to resolve this matter. |
The support has respond to my mail, and that's kind !
|
I have created a feature #1552 to indicate if the sync is working on the app, be free to complete with your recommandation ! Thanks. |
Several days ago I noticed that he Android app (version 2.23) stopped being able to synchronize notes with the server (Android 11). In this thread I read that a new version was released (2.24) which fixes the synchronization problem but I do not use Google Play Store and rely on Releases but there there is no 2.24 version, the latest version is 2.23. Will you publish the latest version on Releases page? I suppose that you know that not everyone uses Google Play Store. |
Expected
Login on Simplenote app.
Observed
Yesterday I observed that sync was broken between my app and the Simplenote server. I tried to force it, then I log out to log back in. That's where the first "login not allowed" error appeared. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app, with no more success.
I'm still being able to log in with Firefox browser, be it on my computer or on the same phone on which is installed the app. I'm using a password manager, so I'm sure that there's no typo in either my webmail or my password.
Password manager to Simplenote website on my phone: login successful.
Password manager to Simplenote app on the same phone: login unsuccessful.
Reproduced
Try to login on Simplenote app.
