Bug Description:

"RangeError: Invalid interval" error displayed after filtering with operator "Between" of Dater filter on 'Payments > Transactions' page.

Environment:

Woocommerce Version: WooCommerce 7.0.1
WooCommerce WooCommerce Payments - 5.0.0 test-3
WordPress version: v6.1

PC:
Windows 10
Chrome(Version 107.0.5304.88)
Firefox(Version 106.0.3)

Steps To Reproduce:

  1. Create any test site using the JN site.
  2. Install and activate all the required plugins.
  3. Add sample product csv..
  4. Create some orders.
  5. Go to 'Payments -> Transactions'..
  6. Click on 'Advanced filters'.
  7. Click on Add filter.
  8. Select box with 'Between' operators.
  9. Provide a date range and click on 'Filter'.
  10. After page reloads, try to change dates again.
  11. Observe that, "RangeError: Invalid interval" error displayed.

Actual Result:

"RangeError: Invalid interval" error displayed after filtering with operator "Between" of Dater filter on 'Payments > Transactions' page.

Expected Result:

Filter should be applied without any error.

Isolating the problem (mark completed items with an [x]):

  • I have deactivated other plugins and confirmed this bug occurs when only WooCommerce plugin is active.
  • This bug happens with a default WordPress theme active, or Storefront.
  • I can reproduce this bug consistently using the steps above.

After some hours debugging I've figured out that this bug occurs only on WordPress 6.1 due to the datepickers on WCPay (this bug also occur on other areas such as on Disputes pages) are sending an moment.js instance to the filters, that is not supported anymore due to the WordPress/gutenberg#43005 update that was included on WP 6.1, I'm looking for a fix.

This problem needs to be fixed on WooCommerce itself because WCPay uses the @woocommerce/components <ReportFilters /> component here, that is pre-compiled in WooCommerce itself so we cannot change the WCPay webpack config to use an old version of it, this component create a moment instance here, and here it uses the current pre-compiled WordPress DatePicker, causing this bug when it receives the moment instance.

Opened woocommerce/woocommerce#35630.

Fixed on woocommerce/woocommerce#35644, this should not happen on future WooCommerce 7.2.
