Title migration for all sites wasn't finished when we upgraded, hence these popping up when customers open editors for non-migrated sites. This should get fixed on its own as the migration script progresses (could already be done for this site). pbAok1-f8-p2#comment-1108 |
I think this particular one is an ongoing issue that needs to be resolved in Gutenberg (getting the editor to decode expected encoded entities created by users that don't have the |
Thanks @arunsathiya ! I'd searched but somehow missed this one anyhow. |
As mentioned above, this is logged upstream here: WordPress/gutenberg#20490. Closing. |
This seems to be still an issue on simple sites, not just with "&" but with other characters too. Simple site mrfoxtestingsite.wordpress.com: I did a quick test on a AT and on self-hosted sites and it works fine there. Self-hosted (local, with and without the Gutenberg plugin): Atomic (with and without the Gutenberg plugin) mystoreadminpractice.blog: I am going to reopen this issue and move it to the triaging board |
I was able to replicate. @dpasque, pinging to get your attention! |
If this issue was closed for a year already, this is likely a new occurrence of the same problem? @WunderBart @fullofcaffeine can this be due Gutenberg upgrade? |
Tagging @Automattic/flow-patrol-create based on issue content. Will also ping internally. |
I was not able to reproduce this on a newly created simple site: Peek.2021-09-14.15-38-encoding-title.mp4@mrfoxtalbot , is the issue still happening for you? |
Thank you for checking @mreishus. I am no longer able to reproduce the issue on a simple site. I'm marking this as solved. |

&
still appears normally on the actual website, it only appears as&

7.8.0
