Steps to reproduce the behavior

  1. Go to the Jetpack > Backup area of WordPress.com for an AT site
  2. Choose a backup to download
  3. Deselect all options so that the prepared backup only includes "WordPress root (includes wp-config php and any non WordPress files)" files, shown in the screenshot below:

Backup Download Options

What I expected to happen

The backup would include the wp-config.php file as indicated in the backup options settings

What actually happened

The download contained the wp-content folder and not the wp-config.php file

Browser / OS version

macOS 11.2.1
Firefox 86.0

Does this happen on simple or atomic sites or both?

Atomic

Is there any console output or error text?

Nope

Level of impact (Does it block purchases? Does it affect more than just one site?)

Verified on a few AT test sites, using multiple backup dates -- the full backup does include the wp-config.php file fwiw

Reproducibility (Consistent, Intermittent) Leave empty for consistent.

This GH issue popped up during my team's Atomic learnup, and I wonder if we can check this further. Since this is related to Jetpack Backup, should we move this to jpop-issues? 🤔 I also adding Jetpack Backup label, hopefully it helps on adding more details.
