Paragraph block: Highlight color disappears after you access the post/page from the mobile app (Android) #57061
Comments
Thank you for reporting this @rossanafmenezes ! I think this may be more related to the Android app. |
@Robertght I wasn't sure since it involves both the app and the web version, but let me know and I will move it to the Android repo 😄 |
I was able to reproduce. The Text Color option was recently removed, so I want to emphasize this is happening with the Highlight option. Here's a related Paragraph block parity request for Underline: wordpress-mobile/gutenberg-mobile#3940 Will wait for @thehenrybyrd to check, see which mobile repo is appropriate. |
@formosattic @Robertght it looks like this is a bug within the mobile implementation of Gutenberg, so /gutenberg-mobile would be the appropriate repo 🙂 Thanks! |
Thank you @thehenrybyrd ! I've reported it here for now: wordpress-mobile/gutenberg-mobile#4155 so I'm going to leave it open so we can gather furhter reports. |
This issue is tracking an issue in another repository. All +1's of end-user reports should be done on this issue, while any discussion related to the issue itself and its fix should be done on the issue in the outside repository. |
Quick summary
If you add a paragraph block and set each word to a different color from a browser like this:
and then you access that page/post from the WordPress mobile app the text is not displayed because the app does not support this feature, which is expected:
However, if you go back to the desktop the color is completely removed:
Things to keep in mind: it works on a classic block (the color is kept as it is even tho the app does not support the classic block at all)
It only happens on simple sites. AT site keeps the color on the paragraph block as well
Steps to reproduce
What you expected to happen
I would expect the color of the words to be kept (as it is in the AT site) when you access it from the browser
What actually happened
the colors are replaced with a yellow highlight
Context
A user provided a feedback in mobile queue saying why they are not using the app anymore. Although I was not able to reproduce what they mentioned, I found this other issue.
