Could be something like this,

Add capability in azd to keep features under multiple states i.e., enabled, experimental, deprecated mode or may be just true/false.
Test capability for the different aspects/features of the system i.e., IaC(TF), Pipeline(AzDo), Deployment target(AKS), Language(Java) etc.
