std/Lua51/os.def.lua says:

if code is false, …

The manual for Lua 5.1 does not mention a boolean argument though. This was only introduced in Lua 5.2.

I suspect that this is not the only deviation. Therefore it seems to make sense to cross-check the whole directory std with the Lua manuals.
